Garmin VivoActive
I just dove into the world of wearable technology with a purchase of the Garmin Vivoactive watch. I have had the pleasure of using it for 3 weeks. It is a very comfortable fit. Its light and slim design makes for a great fit even on my small wrist. The battery live is great and the ability to be able to download apps to your watch is awesome. It has vibration and notification alerts from your smartphone, activity tracking with goals, and GPS. One of the main reasons why I went with this watch was that it was waterproof it even has a setting that tracks your laps in the pool!
Hopefully more apps come available for the watch but so far I have enjoyed everything Vivoactive has to offer.
Overkill?
Some may think merging fitness and technology maybe a hint of overkill. I am a person that half the reason I get out and get active is to unplug from the world. The first day I wore the watch I had it hooked up to my smart phone, it can tell you every time you get a text, phone call, even a Facebook notification. This may be great for some people but I went ahead and changed my setting where only a phone call will notify me on my watch. Some may complain about it but the fact of the matter is that you can tailor it to how you want it. In the mean time you have the advantage of being able to track your steps, see how you sleep and other great adventures of your day.
